While the two argued, Carryl looked around.  They seemed to have forgotten her.  She saw the cavern was large since there were three dragons in it and yet they were not crowded and the humans were nowhere near the dragons.  She saw the turquoise dragon as it turned on Cerulean's.  The two were almost like two bucks fighting over a doe.  Only this doe was bound.  Carryl noticed that Wyn was not drugged as she had assumed.  Instead her wings were wrapped with some kind of cloth and then bound with braided leather.  Another halter like piece was around her nose.

She looked back to see if they would notice her walking toward her dragon and stopped in her tracks.  The sound of the blow rang in the cavern.  Kyanos had struck Cerulean on the face.  Cerulean did not flinch, but Carryl saw blood start to trickle out of his nose.

"You will never say that again," Kyanos stated in a voice that made Carryl's blood run cold.  "I am the leader, and until you can prove otherwise, you will obey as I say."

He paused and wiped his hands on his trousers.  Then continued, "So, later this morning, you will take the girl and the dragon along with the fifteen other dragons who have bred her and return home.  You will be in charge until I return.  I will follow with the last of the dragons.  There is one last piece of business I need to take care of."

"And if he is stronger?" Cerulean boldly inquired.

Kyanos' hand stopped bare centimeters from Cerulean's face, "I will beat him.  You
mark my words.  He is just a runt.  I don't know how his father managed to do it, but I am still stronger than he."

At the mention of the father, Cerulean's body straightened, "His father was a better man than you, Kyanos.  I do not know why I did not see it before.  I was blinded.  I was foolish to have thought otherwise."

"Yes, but you did, and you willingly watched me kill him," Kyanos stated cruely.

Cerulean hung his head a moment, then raised it again, "An act that I have regretted to this day.  You didn't need all of his information, if you are going to ignore it when the time comes," he paused then continued.  "Fine, I will take them later this morning.  Come, if and when you can."

He turned without another word.  Kyanos' gaze followed him and saw Carryl.

"Cerulean," he bellowed.

The other rider paused and turned.

"You brought her here?" Kyanos said incredulously.

"You told me to not leave her out of my sight.  Where else would I have her, if you have my dragon here, and I wish to speak with you?"

Kyanos exhaled, unable to dispute the logic.

"I see she has not touched her dragon, but who knows how much they have communicated."

"You forget, she can do that at any point here in the canyon or anywhere."

"True, but she now knows how we have her dragon.  She will tell her dragon that information."

"And how is that going to help the dragon?"

Kyanos shook his head and waved his hand at Cerulean, "Just get her out of here."

Cerulean turned and stalked off.  This time Carryl was prepared for the rough arm that caught her and tried to drag her along.  She willingly placed her hands on his shoulders as they headed into the dark tunnel.

When they were out into the open, Cerulean collapsed on a log.  After a moment of heavy breathing with his face in his hands, he motioned for Carryl to join him.

"Why did I not listen to my dragon and my own inner unrest?" Cerulean moaned.

Carryl was unsure what to do.  She instead decided to make sure Wyn was still okay.

"I am fine, little one.  The turquoise has turned to his rider, and the other is just quietly lying here beside me.  He has tried to talk with me.  He is quiet and almost shy."

Carryl smiled at the description.  So, unlike his rider, she thought.

"Wyn, have you felt Ruskya's presence today?"

"Ruskya's," Wyn repeated.  "Funny you should ask.  I thought for a moment that I had felt Wyeth, but it passed quickly."

"When was this?" Carryl inquired.

"A little before you called to me, this morning."

Carryl nodded.  "I woke up and thought Ruskya was here."

"Strange."
